A few years back, I was working as a health coach, successfully teaching nutrition to dancers at The Joffrey Ballet School in New York, and Alonzo King’s Lines Ballet in San Francisco. I had a full coaching practice. My life felt like it was “on track.” I was finally an entrepreneur. In a city I loved.

But have you ever had the feeling that there’s something more? You just can’t put your finger on what it is? Or known you were meant to be doing something else, you just don’t know how to get there?

While I loved what I was doing, very slowly, and without my realizing, it began to feel like something was missing. And the louder the feeling, the more I felt like I was pushing a boulder up hill, on a hot day, in Texas.

It’s not that I didn’t love health coaching. It’s not that I didn’t love my clients.

But I wasn’t in love with it. You know that feeling you get when you are totally on fire and alive in your work? That feeling was gone…
And instead, I was consistently grateful when a client cancelled a session.
And money that flowed in before now took so much effort to generate.
My business was like a balloon that I couldn’t seem to keep inflated.
And feminine fabulosity? Look, most days, it was  me, some sweats, a bed-head-afro and my laptop duking it out until I had a client call or networking event to go to. Feminine fabulosity was nowhere in sight.

Even though I was good at what I did, I started to wonder things like,
Why is this so hard for me? Everyone else seems to be surging forward…
Maybe I’m just not cut out to be an entrepreneur.
And I was here long enough to get completely depressed, and even have a “friend” say to me those exact words: maybe you are just not cut out for this. Ouch.

How could that be? It was the only thing I loved doing. And when my head was in the game, I was good at it!

The further things went downhill, the more I knew I needed help. I worked with several master coaches before anyone asked me to tell my story.

My story?

I wrote. I talked. And for a short while, it felt like I was going in circles. But my coach pointed out to me what was so obvious now in hindsight: that I had evolved. And despite the fact that I had evolved, my business hadn’t yet. And it was this mismatch that was causing me all the frustration.

When things stop working, we think that we need to push harder. And the longer we are pushing harder, the smaller and smaller we let our dreams get. Until one day, all we really want is to pay rent next month. But really, it’s when things stop working that it’s time to bust out. Get even bigger. Charge more. Step into your new niche: do a new thang.

And that is exactly what I did.

I took a deep, long look at everywhere I’ve been, everything I have loved, and everything I’m excellent at.

Then I spoke with a business coach I trusted about it all, and she helped me see what I didn’t before:

Given my unique experiences, and passions, there is a place for someone like me in the world. There was something special that only I could give the world, and if I wasn’t giving it, things would always feel off in my business. And worse, there would be something that the world needed that would remain missing.

And while I knew she was right, I couldn’t figure out what that thing was. I couldn’t see it. And no one close to me could either. They were all so used to seeing me evolve slowly (like me). And had a vested stake in me remaining “as is” to keep the relationship we had alive. Even though they truly wanted me to be happy, like me, they couldn’t see the quantum leap standing right in front of me.

Thank god my coach could.

There is no replacement for someone who can see your greatness and hold you to it.

And practically, overnight, I had a new business that allowed me to bring all of what I was good at, and all of me to the table. A perfect blend of what I loved, and exactly what the world needed.

And thus, ignite! And the ignite! Core Concept was born.

I ignited my biz.
I ignited my passion.
And most importantly, I ignited my purpose in my life.
And I am here to help you do the same.

ignite! Incorporates my love of fashion, my 10 year history as a model, my 5 years as a coach, and my desire to live my purpose and help others do the same. ignite! is a boutique style and brand consultancy that helps femme-preneurs link their personal style to their brand, and their brand to their purpose, so they can attract the right clients, (both on and off-line) while doing their “right” work.

Hot, right?

And since starting ignite! my business is on the rapid expansion path. The quality of my clients has gone WAY up! (buh-bye P.I.T.A. sandwiches!); my ability to take bold risks in service of my biz and passion sky-rocketed, and creativity, inspiration and intuition returned and on full blast.

Using the ignite! Core Concept and Signature System I’ve branded and styled high-profile coaches and speakers, allowing them to be the walking breathing, billboard for their brand’s promise. I’ve also helped women just like you, rebrand themselves and ignite their passion in their biz and their life.

I’ve rebranded several clients this year alone, who are already making triple what they were making in their last niche! And my brand-style clients are attracting more of their ideal clients left and right at speaking engagements, parties, conferences, and in their online video. Even at the grocery store!
